A new video node on 8frame starts with a model, a length, a resolution, a sound setting and a shape already chosen, and several of those defaults are the expensive end of the range. The Veo tool opens on Veo 3.1 Fast, not Lite, so a clip you run untouched costs 168 credits rather than 54. Wan 3.0 opens at 1080p: 95 credits instead of 24 at 480p. Happy Horse opens at 1080p too. None of this is hidden, but it is easy to generate before looking.

"Cheapest setting" is the lowest price the same tool offers; it is not always the same quality, and a shorter or lower-resolution clip may not be the one you need. Pruna and Creatify Boreal are new to 8frame, so we quote their prices, not their quality.
The three defaults that cost the most
Veo starts on Fast. An untouched Veo node runs Veo 3.1 Fast at 8 seconds with sound, 168 credits. For drafts, Veo 3.1 Lite at 8 seconds with sound is 54, and 33 silent. Wan 3.0 starts at 1080p. Its most expensive resolution, so that a value the system cannot read never under-bills. 480p is 24 credits for 5 seconds, 720p 48, 1080p 95. More in how to use Wan 3.0.

Shape defaults
Kling, Veo, Wan and Seedance start in vertical 9:16; Gemini Omni Flash, Hailuo H3, Grok Imagine, Pruna p-video and Creatify Boreal start in horizontal 16:9. Shape does not change the price on any video model here, but it decides the composition, so set it for the placement before you generate. Sound defaults
Sound is on by default on Veo, Kling v3 and Seedance, and switching it off lowers the price on Veo and Kling. Kling O3, a model inside the Kling tool, starts with sound off.
