These two sit close enough in price that the decision comes down to two specifics: Hailuo H3 outputs at 2K, and Kling v3 lets you generate silent for a third less. If resolution is what you need, Hailuo. If you are laying music over everything anyway, Kling silent is the cheaper workhorse.
The price table
Canon 8frame prices, a credit is $0.01 at pack rate:
| Model | 5s | 10s | 15s |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hailuo H3 (2K) | 88 | 176 | 264 |
| Kling v3 Standard, with audio | 86 | 171 | 257 |
| Kling v3 Standard, silent | 57 | 114 | 171 |
| Kling v3 Pro, with audio | 114 | 227 | 341 |
With audio the two are within two credits of each other. Silent, Kling is a third cheaper, and that column is where most production actually happens because music usually goes over the top in the edit.
Where Hailuo H3 wins
Resolution. 2K output, which none of the Kling tiers here match. For anything landing on a large screen or needing a crop, that headroom is real.
Motion variety. Subjectively, Hailuo produces more kinetic and less controlled movement. For organic or energetic briefs that reads as life; for directed shots it reads as unpredictability.
Duration range. 5 to 15 seconds.
Where Kling v3 wins
Silent pricing. 57 credits against 88 for five seconds is a third off, repeated across every clip in a batch.
Shorter minimum. Kling takes any integer from 3 seconds; Hailuo starts at 5. For a two-second cutaway you are paying for five either way, but the 3-second option matters on fast-cut work.
Audio as an option rather than absent. If you do want generated audio, Kling gives you the choice at a known price.
The routing
Batch b-roll and cutaways: Kling v3 silent at 57. The cheapest of the two per usable clip once music is in the edit anyway.
Anything landing on a big screen: Hailuo H3 at 2K.
Energetic or organic motion: Hailuo, and accept less control.
Directed shots with a specific brief: neither, really. Veo 3.1 reads direction more literally and is the right tool for that job. See Veo 3.1 vs Kling v3.
Cheapest moving pixels of all: Wan 3.0 at 24 credits for 5 seconds at 480p, which undercuts both for drafting.
What we have not measured
A scored same-prompt comparison. The claims about motion character are working impressions from routing between these daily, not a benchmark. The prices and duration ranges are from our registry and are exact; the quality judgements are not, and the twenty-minute test in how to test an AI video model will tell you more about your own prompt than either of us.
FAQ

Which has better quality? Different rather than better: Hailuo gives you resolution, Kling gives you control and a cheaper silent path.
What about Kling 2.6 Pro? Still on the canvas at 95 credits for 5 seconds with audio and 47 silent, which makes silent 2.6 the cheapest Kling option of all. Worth checking against v3 for your prompt.
