"1K", "2K" and "4K" are the model's own labels for its output size class; the exact pixel dimensions depend on the aspect ratio you choose.
When 4K is worth paying for
- Print. A poster or a large print needs pixels that screens don't. Generate at 4K, or generate smaller and upscale.
- Heavy crops. If you'll crop a detail out of the frame, start big.
- Readable fine text. Nano Banana Pro at 4K (42) gives small lettering more pixels to land on.
For social posts, thumbnails and slides, 1K or 2K is enough, and on Nano Banana 2 it's half the price of 4K.
